◎简　　介　

　　奈德是一个没头没脑、好心好肺的人。他总是善意地为别人考虑，不过却总是遭到别人的误解。奈德留着一把长发和一脸的大胡子，这让他看上去就像是一个无家可归的嬉皮士。在一个跳蚤市场上，他的这种扮相引起了警察的注意。于是一个警察跑来和奈德套近乎，说自己进来精神衰弱之类。奈德竟也傻乎乎地拿出了大麻准备卖给他。而警察此时也毫不手软，拿起手铐就把奈德带走了。

　　出狱之后的奈德无家可归，只有寄宿在自己的三个妹妹家。他的三个妹妹在表面过的都相对幸福、美满，但是实际上，她们却各有各的烦恼。具有极强事业心的米兰达正准备在自己的记者事业上一飞冲天，不过她现在却觉得生活无聊且乏味；妹妹娜塔莉是一个双性恋，他动辄就喜欢撒谎，而且总是在是否要搬去和自己的女朋友辛迪一同生活的问题上举棋不定；而利兹则是一个追求完美的母亲，她把自己的精力全然地投入到了孩子身上，而无神顾及其他，以至于自己的丈夫对她颇为不满。

　　奈德到来之后，三个妹妹的生活发生了巨大的变化。在一出出令人啼笑皆非的“生活秀”中，三个姐妹通过奈德的眼睛重新发现了生活的意义，而且奈德也为自己在家庭中争得了“一席之地”。
